Why My Computer Restarted Right Before I Saved

Why My Computer Restarted Right Before I Saved banner

📖 Level 1 - Beginner:

I worked for two hours. I wrote many sentences. I found the perfect words. Then my computer got dark. It made a sad sound. It restarted by itself. I screamed. My cat ran away. The computer came back on. Everything was gone. I put my head on the desk. The computer looked happy. But I was not happy. This happens only when I forget to save.

📖 Level 2 – Intermediate:

You spend two hours working on a project. You write perfect sentences. You find the right words. You are almost finished. Then suddenly, your computer screen turns black. A small spinning wheel appears. The computer makes a soft but terrible sound. It begins to restart without asking you. You scream. You hit the save button ten times, but nothing happens. Your cat runs out of the room. When the computer finally turns back on, you open your file. Everything is gone. Two hours of work disappeared. The computer works perfectly now. It seems happy. But you are not happy. This never happens when you save every five minutes. It only happens when you forget for two hours. Scientists should study this.

📖 Level 3 – Advanced:

There is a cruel law of modern life, and it goes like this: your computer will only crash at the precise moment you have forgotten to save. For two glorious hours, you have been typing. The words flow. The sentences sing. You have finally crafted the perfect paragraph. And then—darkness. The screen goes black without warning. A small, ominous loading icon spins mockingly on the screen. The computer emits a soft, apologetic whir, as if to say, "I'm so sorry about this." Then it restarts. You watch in slow-motion horror as your unsaved document vanishes into the digital void. You scream. Your cat, startled, flees the room. The computer boots up cheerfully moments later, displaying a clean, empty document like nothing ever happened. The machine works flawlessly now. It even seems smug. This phenomenon never strikes when you save every five minutes out of paranoia. No, it strikes only during those rare, blissful moments when you lose track of time. Some call it bad luck. I call it the First Law of Digital Tragedy.
